I answered my own interview and I am in the process of doing my double page spread. After that I will be 100% completed!! Here is what i Have typed as of now.
I still need to add pictures and organize the layout. I think that I am going to talk about "Jordyn's" life a little bit before I do the Q&A so that the readers know what I am talking about when I do the interview.

I have been thinking about my double page spread and the questions that I would be asking Jordyn, here are a couple that I have come up with:

What do you enjoy doing most with your horse?
How did you become so interested in the horse world?
Have you won any championships?
Do your friends ever come to your ranch?
How many horses do you own?

I think these questions will give the readers some deep insight on how this girl became so fascinated by horses and how she desires to continue her life surrounded by them. Lets not forget that Jordyn is not actually the girl who is into horses, it is me and all of these questions that I am asking, I am answering myself.

I spoke to my friend and he was having the same issues with Joomag, he told me that Canva was a lot easier and to give it a try. This website is so much easier for beginners. I wish I would have started with this one in the first place.

The picture that I used for my cover photo from Joomag was nice and all, but I did not notice that I had another one that is just incredibly beautiful and I just had to use it as my cover photo. I have completed my cover photo and my table of contents using Canva and I am very pleased with the results.

I am having such a hard time using Joomag. It wont allow me to move the heading to the side, I mean i'm sure there's a way but I can't quite figure out how. The black of the heading clashes with the color of the horse and if i make it white, it just does not look good with the background. I think I am going to ask my friends for help on how to use this website because I am struggling and I am just wasting so much time.

I also tried to make a table of contents, but I am just not happy with the results, I really like the font that I am using but, honestly, this joomag website is giving me a major headache and this process should be fun. It is so hard to align everything and to make everything the same size. I need to find something new to use ASAP..

Oh my god guys, I am so happy with todays results. I LOVE my camera. Today was such a beautiful day. Second time's a charm?? These pictures are gonna be amazing for my magazine. I think I already have the one for my cover photo decided and everything.

My dad and I were cracking up as we watched my friend, Jordyn, struggle through the fear that she had for these horses. I am so thankful for her, she did amazing. I could tell that it was difficult for her to be able to pose naturally with the horses because she was so afraid to even be near them, so at first it was a little hard and funny but she got a hang of it and everything came out perfect!!!

I figured you guys would want to see her reaction at first, lol!!
But then later on, there was a connection between her and the horse and it made the photoshoot go by a lot smoother.

My father has finally arrived. Right now it is 8AM and I am waiting for my dad to give me the thumbs up to go to his farm and start these pictures. I have zero time to waste as this project is soon coming to an end and all I have is ideas but no actual content!! I will be posting pictures today but I have a feeling that not much will be done since it is raining like crazy outside so we will see what happens.

Well im back.. Today was a little disappointing. I can honestly say that I got no pictures that i would want to put in my magazine. Oh i forgot to mention that one of my friends agreed to be my model as long as she didn't actually have to ride the horse, but unfortunately, she couldn't come today and I couldn't waste another day, but regardless, it was still a waste #sad

It was such an ugly day and this is the only picture that i got that could maybe work for my magazine, this is my dads friend who came to help with the project. I was not very pleased with the background so the next time I go, I will go further into the farm so it gives off more of a nature look.

I thought maybe it would be cool to put in a picture of the horse being washed, but this guy ruined it by holding a cigarette. I can't put that in my FINAL project. That's absurd!!!

I am going to try again tomorrow... This time with my model.  Fingers crossed that all goes well and that it is sunny outside.

A light bulb finally lit in my head as I was thinking about a selling line. So it is either between "majestic galloping" or "horse-world insight".  I have been asking so many people and every one is telling me that "majestic galloping" is the way to go. I wanted to do something short and simple to catch the reader's attention. Next week my dad comes back from Colombia so finally we can start the picture taking process. I'm so excited to finally be able to feel like I am starting!!

So I have been thinking about what I want to talk about in my double page spread and I know that I mentioned that I would be speaking about hoof care and the fundamental care for horses, but I think I am going to take a different route considering that my target audience is "horse lovers", I am sure that all "horse lovers" would already know how to take care of the horse's hooves.  I really want to talk about myself and how I started to win competitions but I cant do this project on myself... Although I can't do it about myself, maybe I can use a model and pretend that she is the one that wins all of the competitions. But who can I find in such short notice to take pictures with horses?? All of my friends would probably be terrified of these animals. We shall see what happens but I will make sure to ask around and see if anyone wants to pretend to be me and take some pictures with horses.. I mean who wouldn't want to have a free photoshoot?

I think I have the name and let me tell you, the way I came up with it was pretty funny yet creative. Well not really creative because it's already a name but not a magazine name... make sense? Ok so my creation is.... "Saddle Club". For those of us that live in Weston, we know the street. Well I was thinking that my dad lives in Savanna, which is on Saddle Club rd. and I realized that since my dad is my main source of help for this huge project, I should somehow dedicate it to him. What better way than naming my magazine off of the street of his community? And it just goes perfectly with the genre of my magazine. So as of now, Saddle Club it is, but I might change my mind, because it sounds a little cheesy and like I said on my first post.. I have problems with sticking to my decisions, because I always think I can do better.

So selling line... The second thing that people will read and decide whether they are interested enough to buy the magazine or not.. But yeah no pressure!! I've been thinking and honestly nothing pops up to my head, so hopefully I wake up in the middle of the night with that lit bulb above my head.

Today I was thinking about what to title my masthead. I really wanted to name it Saddle Up, but sadly, that magazine already exists. Although that name is already taken, I got many ideas from that magazine. Their table of contents inspired me to put "Equine Nutrition" in my magazine. I've been feeling a little unmotivated considering that spring break is right around the corner and I leave to Tallahassee this weekend to visit my future college, so it's been a little hard for me to focus on this project. I feel like once I have the pictures that I have been looking forward to, I will feel more motivated to think about my title and everything that goes with it. Although I wish that could be done, I cannot leave anything to the last minute and I have to slap some sense into myself and really focus on the cover page's title and selling line.

I know that since my dad is gone and I can't take pictures of the horses, I'm supposed to be thinking about the information that I will be putting in the magazine. This has been very difficult for me because I can't help but think about all the cool pictures I will be taking and editing of the horses. I am going to make today, my distraction day. Today, I will talk about the pictures that I will be taking and editing of the horses.

My dad sent me a picture on "Women's Day" that inspired me for the cover of my magazine.

Although I am not a professional photographer, I believe that I will be able to make it happen, mostly because horses tend to be very calm, so whatever pose I put them in, they will most likely stay.

Other than the importance of the horseshoe, I have always been fascinated with how it is changed. This is also something that I want to mention in my magazine. I want to do a "how to" on changing the horseshoe and I want to show all of the parts of the horseshoe. I always thought it was something painful just because of the look of it, but ever since my dad explained to me that it doesn't hurt the horses, I want to explain to animal lovers the same thing.

The fitting of the horseshoe is conducted by a farrier, they are the ones responsible for placing shoes on the hooves. As I had a phone call with my dad earlier today, he taught me that it is important to trim the horseshoe every 6 weeks and foreign materials like rocks and sticks should be removed daily. A horseshoe has to be perfectly positioned, because a poorly positioned one could lead to slow circulation in areas of the leg.

3/14

My dad just called me. I was very anxious for the past 3 days, because I needed to decide whether or not I was going to continue with the same genre. I did not want to make a decision until I heard from my dad and finally I did. He will be back by the end of week 3 of my project. Hearing that was a little stressful, because that is so close to the deadline and I did not want to leave things to the last minute.

I have decided that I will continue with my topic on horses. While my dad is in Colombia, I will start some research and I will start to think about what I will talk about on my magazine spread. When he gets here, I will actually go near the horses and take the pictures that I need for my magazine. This will not happen until week 4 but by then, I will know exactly what I will be putting in my magazine.

3 days after my dad comes back, there will be a Horse Show that I will be attending. At these shows, they have food trucks, kids games and millions of Paso Fino horses competing to be the best. In my magazine, I want to take a picture of the winning horse and I want to do an interview with the horse trainer to show the hard work and dedication that it takes to create the discipline of these beautiful horses.

3/10

Ok so I have been thinking about how to be more specific with my genre, but what else can I say other than horses? I want my magazine to be about horses in specific so I can't really say my genre is animals since that is too broad. In my magazine I want to talk specifically about the training of horses and their road to success to be champions in their competitions. I have been thinking about mentioning their horseshoe, which I will talk more about later on, but basically, the horseshoe is the horse's main protection and it prevents injury to the muscle, bones and tendons of the leg, so it is something that is necessary to talk about in my magazine.

Today marks my first obstacle. My dad is currently in Colombia and will not be able to help me with my project. I was so excited to do this project with my dad, because he knows so much about horses and he could really help me out with getting the horses ready for the photoshoots. This will not stop me from taking pictures of them and doing extensive research on them for my magazine spread. My dad is still not sure when he gets back, but I really hope it's soon so that he can help me with this project. He is in the mountains right now so there is barely any signal to call me but it should be any time soon that he lets me know when he will be back so that I can decide whether I will continue with this idea or if I have to start all over and think of a new plan. Fingers crossed that he comes back soon, because I really want my magazine to be about horses...

I have been thinking about topics that interest me and I thought hey, since I love dogs so much, why not create a magazine on them? But that would be a little hard, because I only have one dog and I wouldn't want my magazine to just be on one thing, so I kept thinking.  Then i realized something and I got mad at myself for not realizing earlier. My father is a horse trainer, which means that he teaches the horses how to behave in competitions. I have been surrounded by horses my whole life, so I have a lot to talk about on them and my dad has so many horses that I decided to base my magazine on the horse world.

To explain myself a little further,  the types of horses that my dad has are called "Paso Fino" but more specifically, the Colombian Paso Fino or Colombian Criollo Horse developed in Colombia. These horses are known for their smooth walk, compared to the Jumping Horses. Here is a magazine that has inspired me with the types of pictures that I will be taking and the types of things that I will be talking about. I am very excited to begin this project because I recently got a new professional camera that I have not been able to use yet. My target audience is going to be animal lovers, specifically people who are into the majestic beauty of horses.

3/6

Hi! My name is Isabel Rivera and I am so excited to begin this journey as I create my own magazine. I have decided to work by myself because I do not like to rely on people when it comes to doing projects. I much rather work on this on my own and not have to worry about my partner's ideas clashing with mine. I know that I am going to face many difficult tasks, because I tend to come up with ideas that are good but I always think that I can do better so I end up getting frustrated. It's okay though, because in the end, I will collide my best ideas and create the perfect magazine.

To begin my planning process, I have to come up with a genre. As of now, all I know is that I do not want to do the basic magazine topics like Healthy Living, Sports, Makeup and Models. This makes everything harder for me, because all of the magazine examples that I have been able to find are exactly the topics that I do not want my magazine to be on. At least I am sure of what I don't want, so now I can focus on topics that interest me.
